About Us

Helping cats find the home that they need to thrive in. Personal fostering and caring follow up included. Our mission is to match the right cat with the right home. We take in surrenders, found strays and trapped friendlies. We vet them, feed them, shelter them in foster homes until they are ready to adopt. Our adoption fees cover most of our medical expenses and we ask for donations from others to cover food and litter.

Get to know the founder

Faith McNitt moved to Wilmington from Santa Fe, NM after having lived in England for 10 years. A wedding and portrait photographer by trade, she decided to do some volunteer work and semi-retire from the photography industry. She turned to the Santa Fe humane society and started fostering dogs. When she approached the humane society, they asked her what kind of dog she wanted to foster. She told them she wanted to take the dog that most needed to get out of the shelter. Her first foster was Aunt Bee, a slightly overweight Beagle mix who had shut down in the shelter kennel system. Bee came out of her shell, with a little help from Faith’s terrier, Orbit, and began to be a dog again. In the fall, that humane society did a fund raising event at the local public pool, just before they shut down for the winter. Faith took Bee, much to the surprise of the shelter staff, who couldn’t believe her transformation! Aunt Bee eventually got adopted and Faith took on her next foster, and her next, and her next- kittens too!

After Faith moved to Wilmington, she contacted a wonderful rescue group called Rescue Connect (at the time, they were with Operation Topcat) based out of the Petsmart, Mayfair location. She ended up fostering, volunteering at adoption events and fundraising with them for 2 years. In January 2020, Faith wanted to start her own group, as she felt a gap in the rescue community for owner surrenders. She got on the 501(c)3 paperwork trail (which took a while to complete with the Pandemic at hand) and started taking in and adopting out kittens and cats in February 2020.

Faith is now registered on Facebook as a charitable organization, along with Amazon Smile, Petfinder and Petsmart Charities. She specializes in social rehab, kittens and hard to place adults.
